School of Arts and Sciences
Academically gifted students with limited resources deserve the ability to reach their potential. SGU recognizes this, and that’s why in January 2007 the University launched The Commonwealth-Grenada St. George’s University Scholarship Program (CGSP).
The program includes 75 scholarships, 10 of which will be awarded to students entering the School of Arts and Sciences. The goal of these scholarships is to train professionals to enhance the business and educational infrastructure of Commonwealth countries, specifically developing nations. Eligible undergraduate degree programs are International Business, Management Information Technology and Life Sciences.
A Commonwealth-Grenada St. George’s University Scholarship Committee established by the University awards the scholarships. To date, 12 scholarships have been awarded to students from eight different Commonwealth countries. While the $4 million (USD) program will fully fund tuition, students will require separate support for living and traveling expenses.
A prospective scholarship candidate must be a resident citizen of a Commonwealth country who has been accepted to St. George’s University School of Arts and Sciences program. SGU will maintain strict adherence to its admission requirements. Award determinations will be made by the University’s Commonwealth-Grenada Scholarship Committee based primarily on academic excellence, financial need and the student’s commitment to their chosen program of study.
Prospective scholarship candidates must be accepted to St. George’s University School of Arts and Sciences and submit the scholarship application with an essay no later than September 15 for the January entering class.
Scholarship Application
Scholarship candidates must include the following essay with their scholarship application:
Envision yourself at 70 years of age. Describe the impact this scholarship has made on your life, and the difference that this has made in your community and country.

Undergraduate Scholarship Programs for Full-time or Part-time StudentsSt. George’s University offers partial tuition scholarships to resident citizens of CARICOM countries who otherwise, due to financial constraints, could not attend the School. The following scholarship programs are only for attendance in the undergraduate programs at St. George’s University.
Caribbean Undergraduate Scholarship ProgramThe Caribbean Undergraduate Scholarship Program (CUSP) offers partial scholarships to CARICOM resident citizens that can reduce the amount of tuition for undergraduate studies by up to 60%. Awards for the CUSP are for the duration of the undergraduate program.
Grenadian Undergraduate Scholarship ProgramThe Grenadian Undergraduate Scholarship Program (GUSP) offers additional partial tuition awards to resident Grenadian citizens who demonstrate financial need. The GUSP awards range up to 95% of the full tuition charged by the University. Awards for the GUSP are for one academic year. Grenadian students must apply each academic year, in either August or January, for a GUSP award determination.
Caribbean Visionary ScholarshipThe Caribbean Visionary Scholarship seeks to make tertiary education possible for some of the region’s top scholars who might otherwise be unable to attend university. Recipients, who must be CARICOM citizens, will be able to utilize these full and partial tuition scholarships in order to pursue one of the undergraduate degrees within the School of Arts and Sciences at SGU. The Caribbean Visionary Scholarships are designed to complement the need-based Caribbean Undergraduate Scholarship Program (CUSP) already offered by the University.
